arriving around noon today. both of these debate combatants agree that the upper hand really kind of is held by joe biden because of his experience in 2008 in the vice presidential debate then against then nominee republican sarah palin and all those presidential debates he was involved in in 2008 as a presidential candidate for a short time. it is ryan who says yep, biden has the upper hand here. >> congressman ryan is a smart and effective speaker, but his ideas are the wrong ones. >> joe biden has been on this stage before. it's my first time. what he can't run from is president obama's indefensible record. they're offering more of the same. >> this is the scene that you'll be looking at if you're watching the debate. it's kind of a round table format. not a lot of moderators.

really wasn't answered for me yesterday. why? what would be the benefit to not giving more security in a country where right now the reinsurgentence of al-qaeda is at a growing rate? it was blamed on budget cuts. the democrat blamed the republican house. but if you look at the big picture, why? why would you not have security? >> brian: charlene lamb, who was absolutely exposed as, in my mind, totally incompetent. deputy assistant secretary, she testified she did not request security because there was no justification. really? when the lieutenant calls you up and says, i have a fear here that we'll be overrun and your ambassador puts it in writing the week before he was assassinated, you could sit there in front of a national audience and say there was no justification? >> steve: she said the security was appropriate. if it was, how did four people die? here is part of that exchange.

>> it's been suggested that budget cuts were responsible for a lack of security in benghazi and i'd like to ask miss lamb, you made this decision personally, was there any budget consideration and lack of budget which led you not to increase the number of people in the security force there? >> no, sir. >> gretchen: the answer was no, sir. then you have to wonder about now this alleged cover-up, the second part of the story. remember when the united states ambassador to the upunion, susan rice, went out five days after the attack and said it was because it was the video, that it wasn't a terrorist attack. then patrick kennedy who testified yesterday as well who is a state department deputy. he originally said the day after the attack that it was in an unclassified brief to go members of congress. -- or congressional aides, he said it was a terrorist attack. yesterday when he's testifying, he said that if anyone had gone

out and said as susan rice did that day that he would have said the same thing, even though four days earlier he had said it was a terrorist attack. he claims now that he's supporting susan rice and what she said in saying that they didn't really know how it happened, that it was spontaneous. who is telling the truth? >> brian: lieutenant colonel wood said he knew instantly even though he was in tripoli. and if you listen to people like eli lake, anderson cooper, and james rosen of fox news, all of them were able to get reports from our intelligence sources that said this was a terrorist attack. and they were defending. the state department lifers were defending ambassador rice yesterday. who gave them the talking points? what was going on? i know there was a secretary of state meeting with the president, hillary clinton and the president. the president p did not campaign yesterday, just interviews. was everyone getting on the same page? was patrick kennedy falling on his sword for his --

the democrats are helping joe biden with bail them out. >> i think there is no question, i think that's why the stakes are high. the audience is likely to be large. we were looking at the numbers for joe biden. i think lots of people know that he can come out with some tongue twisting surprising statements, so it makes the debate all that more unpredictable and more interesting. did he well against sarah palin back in 08, steve. the question is how will he handle paul ryan? ryan is 27 years younger. i think 69 to 42. joe biden know has lot more about foreign policy, knows the ways of washington, and paul ryan can get irritated sometimes with folks when they're asking questions. so joe biden doesn't want to come off as a cranky old man, but paul ryan has to be careful not to come off as too quickly dismisssive and irritated with really a senior statesman. >> steve: and andrea, the republicans are really hoping that paul ryan does a good job and extends their winning streak to two.

>> yes. and i think the bar is much higher for joe biden. i think that's because president obama set it that way because of his pathetic performance. in the words of joe biden himself, steve, tonight is a big bleeping deal. so he has to come out of the gate. the problem is, he has a really weak script. while i don't think he's going to have any foot in mouth foibles like he typically does because the stakes are so high and campaign aides have probably cautioned him against that, i think the gaffe tonight is going to be the weak script that the obama-biden team had over the last four years because any time he tries bring up his record, i think paul ryan, who is so knowledgeable, is going to pounce. again, juan brought up that visual of young versus old and i think joe biden is just going to look like an old washington fixture with this young gun who actually has fresh ideas. i think he'll espouse that same romney template for debating. >> steve: juan, the administration really has given

paul ryan something to whack joe biden in the head with and that is while there is this investigation going on on capitol hill regarding libya, millions of americans out of work, what is the campaign talking about? big bird. come o you got to be kidding me. >> no, i think that's infective ad. obviously we're talk being it. >> steve: you do? >> yeah, because you know what? >> steve: borrow money from china to pay for the salaries of a very popular tv show? >> no, i think it's 1, 100th of 1%. it's nothing compared to the tax breaks given to the corporations and the like. what it says is it's a matter of priorities. who stands with the priorities that education, young people, all that. so that's why they're using it in that way. and i think that will play into the debate tonight just the way andrea was talking about because when you get to medicare, i think that biden has a clearly different point of view. when you get to spending, when you get to taxes. i think that's what big bird was about in terms of that ad saying to especially women, look at the

masked gunmen driving by on a motorcycle. yemeni officials say the attack has the hallmarks of al-qaeda, but no one is taking responsibility as of yet. he had worked for the u.s. embassy for nearly 20 years. we're following that story. >> gretchen: here is fox news contributor, liz cheney to weigh in on that and so much more. good to see you. >> thank you. >> gretchen: what do you make of this? another assassination. >> i any what it shows very clearly is we were seeing al-qaeda in north africa and arabian peninsula and it is something that's happening that's very much contrary to the administration's preferred narrative. they would prefer for the american people to believe that with the killing of bin laden, the threat from al-qaeda is diminished, the president says every single day multiple times on the campaign trail that al-qaeda is in retreat. not true. al-qaeda is ascendent and they have been looking the other way wanting the american people to believe what is happening is the result of the video when we know

clearly it wasn't. >> steve: although that was the story that the administration was pushing early on, even though 24 hours after the attack, the terrorist attack, intel community knew it was probably an al-qaeda affiliate, perhaps like the thing over in yemen right now. and yet, the story that we heard the front people doing, like susan rice and hillary clinton and the president, it was the video. it was the video. so far who is collateral damage? susan rice looks bad and hillary clinton was ultimately responsible for the security there. >> right. one of the things that was interesting that we learned yesterday was charlene lamb, the diplomatic security official, saying she followed the attack really moment by moment. so she knew there was no mob outside of the consulate. she knew that they had heavy armor. she knew this was a terrorist attack. i am still waiting for secretary clinton to have to answer these questions. she needs to be under oath. there has been a lot of coverage about the fact that the president skipped his in person daily intel brief. i'd like to know what secretary

clinton's record on that. she's personally responsible fort security of those diplomats. we need to understand, did she make these decisions and what was her involvement? >> brian: you know what was incredible is that they wouldn't use the word terror. it was almost comical to see these state department lifers refuse to acknowledge the biggest threat to the state department officials around the globe! >> right. it's the cover-up. there is no question. there are two big problems they've got. one is the fact that they denied requests for security and they pulled out the security team before the attack in august. >> brian: despite the protests. >> despite the protests. so they've got the problem of clearly not enough assets at the consulate in libya. secondly, the cover-up afterwards. and the fact that they were out so confidently asserting this was because of a video, which we now know was a lie. it doesn't fit, again, with their narrative. >> gretchen: when did that start? when did the cover-up, in your mind, start? did it start before susan rice went out on the shows? >> well, you clearly had these

conflicting reports of within 24 hours, the department of defense designated it internally as a terrorist attack because then you're able to mobilize more resources. but even then you had that quickly, the president, secretary of state saying the video. i mean, secretary clinton, as she was standing next to the coffin with the body of our ambassador and the three other americans who had been killed, as she was standing next to those coffins, she said, you know, horrific video. now, that's just shameful. we know it's not true. so i know it's an election season and i know that the white house will attempt to stall, but i really commend what is happening on the hill and i hope congress will continue to push on this. >> steve: i bet it's a topic at the vice presidential debate, which is something you know a little about. >> i imagine it will be. >> steve: liz cheney, thank you for joining us. >> thank you. >> brian: i'll see you only radio a little later. >> gretchen: coming up, usually something you don't have to worry about until you get much

daughter. >> brian: i was going to say unnamed source. >> steve: we've got a named source who is live on the ground in danville, kentucky right now, steve brown. he's got a preview. steven? >> i certainly do. we have at least half of the participants already in ken condition. the republican nominee, paul ryan, arrived yesterday afternoon. we are told his debate preparation has included watching the previous debate that joe biden was involved with as a vice presidential nominee, the 2008 debate with him and then republican nominee sarah palin. also watching some of joe biden's appearances on the sunday morning talk shows to kind of get an idea of how he operates in those kind of live formats. biden himself will not be arriving here in kentucky until sometime around the noon hour eastern time. we have had very little word about what his debate preps are like, other than he's been engaged in them. paul ryan does believe, however, in this scenario, based on experience, that biden has the

upper hand. >> joe biden has been on the stage many times. this is my first time. so sure, it's a nervous situation because joe biden is one of the most experienced debaters we have in modern politics, but the achille's heel he has is president obama's record. >> george needs to be -- joe needs to be joe. congressman ryan is a smart and effective speaker, but his ideas are the wrong ones. >> as brian pointed out, this is going to be a different debate format than some you may have seen where there is a bunch of different panelists asking questions. this will be a one on two. it will be martha readyitz asking the question. there has been some issue made of her wedding back in the early '90s being attended by then future senator and president barak obama. that marriage ended in divorce years later. reached out to the campaigns

yesterday and asked whether or not this was going to be an issue in terms of impartiality or beliefs in that. both campaigns waived off on it. in terms of the polling numbers, we've seen a lot on presidential candidates, but very little on vice presidential. we do have some to share. joe biden in the negative on the split by three percentage points. paul ryan, plus ten. that might have a lot to do that he's relatively new on the national scene and 16% you see there really can't rate him 'cause they don't know enough about him. paul ryan may do something about that tonight with a national television audience, which will have to compete, and i know this breaks brian's heart, with the yankees-orioles game on television. we know brian is a dedicated political watcher, so he will actually turn off the orioles- yankees game, all of the vice presidential debate. and then all of the breakdown after on fox. so he's going to have to, like,

dvr his yankee game. >> brian: i don't want to question your journalistic integrity, but what source are you using to say i'm going to be choosing? i'm only kidding. of course i'm choosing the debate. i trust your sources. also a football game is tonight. >> gretchen: there is a lot to choose from, but lots will be watching the debate. thanks, steve brown. speak of debates, there is another presidential debate coming up after the vice presidential one tonight. it's going to be next tuesday night in long island. yesterday president obama gave his first interview since after the national interview -- national interview since the debate. one of the excuses that came out yesterday was he said he was too polite in that first debate. i wonder what the altitude is going to be also in long island because al gore might have to come up with something else coming up for next tuesday. but the president says that debate performance should not change the minds of the people who are supporting him because he remains consistent on the

issues. >> one thing that i think people -- republicans as well as democrats can say, is that there has been consistency with me from the time i started running for president to today and there will be consistency all the way through the next four years of my presidency. people will know where i stand, what i believe, what i'm fighting for. >> with all due respect, they're changing their story on everything. they're changing their story on libya bit hour. they're changing their story on why he lost the debate. they're changing their story on what's going on in america. >> brian: two things i find interesting about this portion under four weeks to go until the election, number one, democrats, including some advisors to bill clinton, are shocked that the emphasis on the reelection campaign for president obama has been focusing on big bird. staggered that they're walking away and continue to bring this up day after day. number two, if the president wants to act tough, debate experts say you don't do it in

the town hall format. one of the best things president obama has going for him is that people like him. if he comes off nasty and domineering, he could lose a lot of those people who finally got to know governor romney. those are not my words. karl rove said this. >> steve: absolutely. it will be interesting to see which joe biden shows up tonight. the democrats are really counting on joe biden to get up to the plate and hit it out of the park, if that is possible given the fact the president did so badly last week. the republicans are hoping for two in a row with a win by paul ryan who, keep in mind, the thing about joe biden, we have not seen him in a major tv venue since that "meet the press" event four, five, six months ago when he said he was in favor of same sex marriage. joe has been off the stage until tonight. it's going to be a big one. >> gretchen: fox news alert for you. new breaking details emerge being a security official at our embassy in yemen who has been shot dead. greg palkot live with the very latest. what can you tell us?

>> we've been working our contacts on the ground in yemen. the yemeni government, according to officials there, working under the assumption that this is an al-qaeda hit. the al-qaeda and arabian peninsula chapter in yemen. one of the more deadly, one of the more dangerous chapters of al-qaeda. what happened was as yemeni national, who has worked, i am told, at the u.s. embassy for at least ten years, was leaving his home in a suburb of sanna, the capital of yemen. and then a motorcycle drove up with two masked men on that motorcycle and shot and killed this yemeni national. this is a style of attack well-known in recent months by the militants in this country as they react to a big crackdown on al-qaeda by the government. we are told he held various functions at the embassy. it's been said that he was the head of security. we're told that's not the case, but he could have headed up

teams of security officials at the embassy. we're also told that again, he might be seeing this, according to a government official i was speaking to, as an easy target. that's his words, easy, a soft target for the militants to go after the united states because the united states has been playing a very high profile role working with the yemeni government to attack al-qaeda. that is they have been providing drone aircraft for strikes against militants. they've been providing intelligence and they've been providing training for the yemeni government. so if the militants were upset about the u.s. role, this might have been one way that they could go after the u.s. government. that's a hypothesis being put out, however, by the yemeni government. back to you. >> brian: didn't the package bombs come from yemen? al-awlaki is from yemen? there is a tremendous fear about what's growing in that country in particular.

correct? >> it's an important chapter. we've been following anwar al-awlaki, the famous internet, now deceased internet militant that we've been reporting on for several years now. yeah. it's an important chapter and it's an unsettled country. again, let's remember what happened at the u.s. embassy in sanaa, last month another violent protests and in one protest, the protesters breached the walls of the embassy. no americans were hurt or killed, but that breach was another serious security lapse on one side or the other. either the u.s. embassy or the yemeni government who did not supply enough security for the americans. yeah, dangerous place. >> steve: thank you very much. it is clear despite what the administration is saying, al-qaeda is growing. we had mr. wood yesterday say that in the testimony on capitol hill. and then we had lara logan last week in chicago saying despite the fairy tale that's being put

out, it's getting worse. >> gretchen: now headlines. construction worker rescued overnight from under a five story garage that collapsed on top of him. it happened on the campus of miami-dade college in florida. rescue crews pulled him out of the rubble around 1:00 a.m. this morning. right now he is in critical condition. two other workers were killed and at least eight others hurt. >> i just seen a lot of smoke, the building shaking, and it started collapsing. >> gretchen: the garage was under construction. police say unfortunately, one worker is still missing. in a half hour from now, we'll be hearing from police about the latest in the case of a missing colorado girl. there was a tragic turn of events overnight. police did find a body in a park just a few miles from where jessica ridgeway went missing. local reporters are now saying that it is the ten-year-old girl's body, but police are not yet confirming that. >> at this time, we're unable to make any connection to the disappearance of jessica ridgeway. that crime scene will exist

>> any time a mortgage is sold to a new servicer, in other words, a new company that's going to service your loan where you send payments, it's like you have to start all over, gretchen. it's very difficult for homeowners to deal with this, but there are new people on the block. they really don't know necessarily what happened with the last servicer, so even though you've been in this modification for a while, unfortunately, most likely you're going to have to resubmit paperwork and try all over again to get a loan modification. so it can be frustrating for homeowners. it's not unusual. >> gretchen: let's look at this e-mail from kimberly. my parents cosigned a home loan for my sister's home in florida. she was rejected for a loan modification and is now in default. my parents' own home is paid for and they are worried it could be at risk. can my parents transfer my sister's home to me to protect their house? a little complicated. >> no, because bottom line is that because they cosigned for the loan, a lot of times what happens, gretchen, is people get

(bleep). >> steve: vice president joe biden had more than his share of gaffes. will that be a problem tonight as he heads into the debit against paul ryan? here is some advice for both, peter johnson, jr. >> good morning, steve. some of those gaffes are not gaffes. we didn't see one where he talked about sending people back into chains. that was an obvious ploy to attract the african-american votes to the obama. >> steve: that was not a gaffe? >> that was part of a class war thing. let's go to the tail of the tape. let's look at them side by side. joe biden, first of all, in terms of his exercise, mostly lifts weights. we know paul ryan loves that p-90 x workout. they have secret service handles. celtic for joe biden. bow hunter for joe biden. they're both irish american by heritage. first gig for both, life guard for joe biden. and we know, i've heard you talk about it, paul ryan drove the oscar wiener mobile.

what they're selling, joe biden is selling his experience. paul ryan will be selling his energy. what they're hiding? joe biden will be hiding his age at 69, i believe. what paul ryan may be hiding is his youth. now, joe biden's assignment, being romney's -- being robin to obama's batman, is to trash romney the way that obama couldn't and excite the base. at the same time paul ryan needs to keep momentum and be positive. finally, the biden goal, scare the american people. ryan, reassure the american people. we know from pugh and other polls that more people have a favorable opinion of paul ryan than they do of joe biden. he needs to leverage that today. this is his kind of first view with a lot of american people and they need to say okay. he's the guy that we can trust. he's a guy that we can believe in. he's a guy we can have confidence in. joe biden, there is nobody better in this country in

appealing to every particular voting group. >> steve: joe from scranton. >> he will laugh. he may cry. he will say that he has something in common with everybody in this country. at the same time, paul ryan needs to say, listen, joe biden, everybody says you're a foreign policy expert. let's go through the middle east. let's go through north africa. let's talk about what we've done and what prosecute you doing as vice president to help increase jobs in this country? why didn't you go to the jobs council? >> steve: excellent points. tomorrow at this time we'll be talking about their performance. one thing they won't be able to blame is the altitude. i just googled it, 984 feet. so that won't be any problem. >> they're at even ground. they'll be coming in full of oxygen and hopefully not too full of hot air. >> steve: but does -- that's a good one. but does the vice presidential debate really, really matter? is somebody going to pull the

lever because of the way one of these guys acts tonight? >> i think it matters in terms of momentum and in terms of the narrative. it matters in terms of the republican ticket showing to america that they're empathetic, sympathetic, that they have a plan for the future and that the biden-obama plan has failed and that they have no plan for the fewer. i think those are the goals. these are hard goals for any debater, for any vice presidential candidate. the stakes are really, really high. it should be exciting. biden needs to win a knockout blow in order to turn this thing around. s that tough, tough thing for him to do. but he needs to win this thing decisively tonight based on the president's very poor performance. if biden is half decent, he'll wind up embarrassing the president because everyone will say, why was he so good and obama so bad? it's just going to point out defects of the obama first debate. >> steve: peter, while you were just sound biting right there, one of the producers whispered in my ear that apparently when it comes to debate prep,

>> brian: fox business alert. the labor department just releasing brand-new weekly jobless numbers. you ready? 339,000 first-time unemployment claims were filed last week. that's down from the week before and less than expected. so slightly better news. >> gretchen: here to react to the numbers is pete selleck,

chairman and president of michelin north america. feel like i've known you forever 'cause you asked me to call you pete. good to see you. what do you make of these numbers, down from 367 to 339. good news for the obama administration. >> very clearly we're still concerned about employment in this country. we're not where we need to be. there is a tremendous amount of uncertainty. we've announced a major project in north america. we're investing $750 million to expand an existing earth mover tire plant and build a new one. a lot of companies are sitting on the side lines now because they just don't know what the tax rates are going to be next year or what the economic situation is going to be. >> brian: the money is there. you also believe people aren't investing. >> exactly right. i think they know -- we had the big opportunity because we've large advantage in our technology. there's a tremendous demand for these earth mover tires. these are tires that go on mining and construction equipment. we trial are building a plant and expand ago plant in south carolina, 80% of what we make in earth mover tire capacity there is exported outside of the united states. >> steve: so if you're building

earth mover tires and caterpillar tires, you're optimistic about the future. but when you look at the number of people who have unfortunately dropped out of the job market, it's heart breaking that so many people have been unable to find jobs in the last four years. >> it is. it is. and we look at it, looking at the 22,000 people that we employee in north america today, during 2012, we're hiring 1500 people. 500 people for these new projects and about 1,000 to replace attrition in our company. the average tenure of our 22,000 pleas is 24 years. so a lot of them are getting near the end of their career. >> steve: how is the obamacare, as it's been called, impacting your company, because you were talking about the great uncertainty facing a lot of businesses, in particular small businesses have been impacted greatly. how is it impacting you at michelin? >> health care costs are a major problem for any corporation running in north america and in the united states. it's called the affordable care act. we're looking for the affordable

part. we don't see a slow down in inflation. >> steve: 'cause prices are going up? >> they're going up still at an alarming rate. >> gretchen: the interesting question i have is that if you say that you're creating more of these tires, then are we to believe that construction will be on the comeback in america, too? n as i said, 80% of what we're going to be manufacturing in these two plants making earth mover tires in south carolina, 80% will be exported. so we're looking at the growth in canada, at the growth of mining in south america and australia, which is primarily for the emerging markets. even if there is a world wide slow down, which could occur, dollar lot of the mining companies looking to use them to put on larger products. we saw no slow down at all during 2008 or 2009. >> brian: as a manufacturer, i know about the certainty. but what would you like to see when the certainty comeswhat woe happen to be able to keep more manufacturing here? >> very clearly, the biggest threat facing michelin, facing

any company right now is this uncertainty. we have about a 12 month window -- >> brian: would you like to see corporate tax cut? >> that's all part of it. the biggest threat beyond that is the fiscal imbalance we have today. the fact we're taking in $2.5 trillion of revenue and spending 3.7. your families can't sustain that. our businesses can't sustain that. the government can't sustain that. the new president, whoever is elected, is going to get in there on the 21st of january and face this with a new congress. they'll have to deal with it. they can't do like they did last year. they can't continue to kick it down the road. it will hurt. it's going to require sacrifice on the part of corporations, on the part of individuals. but the remarkable thing about this is despite the sacrifice it will require, if we are successful in doing that, will put this country on a brand-new trajectory for the next ten years. >> brian: you just need to see a path. >> it's the trajectory. it's making the decision so gradually we can get everything rebalanced and start moving

>> brian: this is how we woke up. breaking news out of yemen where a yemeni security officials in the u.s. embassy was shot dead. officials say the man, working for the embass for 20 yeast, gunned down by an assassin on a

motorcycle. yemen officials say they believe al-qaeda is behind the attack. this comes one day after lawmakers on capitol hill pressed for answers on the terrorist attack in libya which happened one month ago. while we were told it was a spontaneous protest. former nsa director, general michael hayden here with his reaction. first off, you just told me, always great to see you. you just told me you heard a lot of the testimony yesterday. do you believe that we're seeing a cover-up to the actual terrorist attack that killed four americans? >> brian, i wouldn't use the word cover-up. there has certainly been inconsistency. let's assume those first intelligence reports, we now know them to be wrong -- said this was spontaneous and video related. and i assume the administration grabbed that thing like my grandkids grab a teddy bear because it was a convenient story for their broader political narrative. but underneath that political story, i think the intelligence begins to change rather quickly.

so the real question is, why does the public position of the administration continue with the original story even though you've got these other string of information cop not guilty challenging the original premise. >> brian: here is what reporter said who had your job as c.i.a. director. it's not conceivable that the oval office did not know what was going on which begs the question, why was the hoax about the video fed out and why was ambassador rice hung out to dry? your reaction? >> here is how i look at it, brian. you recall that 2003 national intelligence estimate iraq weapons of mass destruction were, we got it wrong. we had significant trade craft improvements after that event. what we did was to make sure that when we talked to an intelligence consumer, we gave him or her confidence levels as to how much we believe in our assessment and secondly, we took an oath that we would give that

client conflicting views within the intelligence community. so i wonder what it was that was presented to the administration even in those early hours. what were the confidence levels that it was spontaneous and video related and did we indeed include those early conflicting views that an attack of this nature, complex, synchronized, sequential, could have been from a jihaddist flash mob? >> brian: you don't honestly believe from what we knew that it could have been a spontaneous attack when you were getting reports play by play, out of benghazi showing that this was a coordinated attack that lasted for hours? >> well, i have to admit, i watched the testimony yesterday and colonel wood and mr. nordstrom, the regional security officer, i mean, their instincts almost immediately were organized preplanned and could almost identify the group. i must admit, brian, in my own instincts, and again, not fact based and i'm not seeing streams of reporting, but my own

instincts with an attack of that nature in that town, benghazi, when we know the character of the people there and the islamist fundamentalists that live there, my initial instinct, my default option was this was truly a terrorist attack and not this kind of spontaneous reaction to the video. you know, there may have been some suggestions in the early streams that it was somehow connected to cairo. but again, i would not have gone out with that estimate with any level of confidence. >> brian: if you found an bamdor saying that, you would have had your eyebrows raised and eric nordstrom is trying to get additional security the whole time. in the hierarchy, the secretary of state whose office rejected requests to keep security personnel in the country, is she culpable? does she have to answer questions, in your mind? >> i'm not in a position to judge the secretary of state, who frankly, brian, i think has

been more candid than some with regard to the nature of the attack. and look, i've been in those hearings. i've had those kinds of questions pushed on me. it's difficult to answer and i know what seems obvious now, but i had a bit of sympathy with secretary lamb and my good friend, pat kennedy, trying to answer those questions yesterday. but again -- >> brian: i don't. it didn't seem like they were being candid, general. they should have just said some of the things they were saying given to briefers. if they said that and let the answers lie. there is something else that you want to bring up. you're doing something special for our troops. >> right. we were just talking about intelligence and how difficult it is with that vast quantity of information out there, getting the right information to the right people at the right time. well, we're doing that now for military families. 3 million people comprise our military family community. the national military family association has come out with a new app. my military life, which you can
